Welcome into the African Cubs room where you will be met with wonder, creativity and imagination. The African Cubs room is of a unique age group ranging from 18 months to 2 1/2 years, this allows the children to scaffold each others learning with the support from their Educators in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment.
We have a strong connection to nature and the importance of caring for and sharing the land in which we live, play and work with everyone. This is echoed throughout the centre with the adventures had within the community garden and the natural spaces within both the outdoor and indoor environments.
We enjoy exploring a lot of sensory play within the room as the children use their entire bodies to explore new elements and textures which plays an important role in a child's brain development at this age.
We have a strong focus on developing independence by allowing opportunities to try new skills such as preparing, cooking and serving their own meals throughout the day.
We believe children are capable and independent learners which is supported by our curriculum involving risk taking, real life experience and scientific exploration. We provide an environment where children can be their own creators, to be confident and to question within this magical and wondrous world.
