Community Garden

The community garden and animal farm is a living, thriving and ever changing organic space that boasts fresh herbs and spices that are utilised in our rooms through a variety of learning opportunities. We have two large art gardens inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s sunflowers as well as our lush Monet inspired garden that provides us with beautiful flowers to investigate with, create with, use in the classrooms and simply to enjoy.

Children and families across the centre and in our community are encouraged to take what they need from our gardens and to spend time with their little ones by enjoying our garden space and learning to appreciate the natural world and its elemental magic and wonder.

Each of the rooms across the centre take mini excursions to the community garden, where the children are involved in a natural, meaningful, multi-sensory and kinaesthetic learning experience. This farm style environment is a peaceful, beautiful space encouraging the children to investigate, explore, question, hypothesise, wonder, connect and relax among the plants, animals and trees.

It’s so beneficial for children to develop an awareness of where their food comes from and how to utilise this knowledge to grow and use sustainable resources. Combined with our focus on wellbeing, innovation and creativity the garden has added a rich and diverse learning space and is helping our centre connect with the community.
